Students are searching in their reading level books (including the book bags that go home) for prepositional phrases that specifically answer the question of 'where' something is happening. Our classroom Word Wall has prepositions. We also have phrases that we have found together as a class and individually. Our goal is to learn how to make more complex sentences.

Example: I jumped.
I jumped in the puddle.
I jumped in the puddle on the sidewalk.
I jumped in the puddle on the sidewalk beside a cat.

Next, we will be searching for adjectives and learning how to use a variety of verbs.
